1.     I believe all students can learn and my job is to ensure that I do everything I can to promote academic success of all my students.

2.     I believe all students deserve a safe and respectful learning environment.

3.     I believe working collaboratively with my co-workers and administration I will grow as an  individual and teacher.

4.     I believe that when I listen to my students I will gain knowledge; and with that knowledge I will gain trust and respect.

5.     I believe my attitude and actions have an impact on my students; positive or negative.  Therefore, I must always be a positive role-model.

6.     I believe it is my job as an educator to grow with the profession and continually try to improve, so that my students can have the best education possible.

I believe that attaining a well-rounded education is one the most cherished and essential components to a happy and successful life.  To educate a child there must be communication and effort between the community, parents, and schools.  I feel fortunate that I am a part of the teaching profession, and have been given the opportunity to interact with today’s youth and share my knowledge, as well as gain knowledge from my students.  It is amazing how much I have learned from my students over the years.  It is important for teachers to listen to their students and treat them with respect.  Open communication creates a safe and nurturing environment allowing students to learn and connect to the information.

Teachers are a very important part of a child’s education.  Schools are models of society and children learn academic skills to help them grow up and be able to be productive adults.  They also learn how to work together and interact constructively.  Schools should teach children in such a way that the student finds meaning and purpose in what they learn.  Lessons should be connected to outcomes, so students recognize that learning is beneficial to them.  Student success is dependent on the teachers’ ability to approach each child individually and to ensure that every child is taught with respect to their own learning needs.  It is a teachers’ responsibility to provide a quality education while teaching children life-long skills.

As a teacher I strive to create a classroom environment that is safe and positive at all times.  A balanced curriculum that incorporates state standards, cooperative learning, and SADIE techniques are important to student success.  Success in the classroom creates students to want to become active, lifetime learners.  Students should be rewarded and encouraged to attain knowledge from every avenue of their life.  Education is not only the teachers’ job alone; they must work in conjunction with the community for the complete education of today’s youth.
